Janice Brown, MEval, BA
Senior Consultant

Janice Brown is a social worker and evaluator with more than thirty years experience working in the public sector and community agencies. She has a Masters of Evaluation from Melbourne Univeristy and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. She is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers Research Committee and a member of the Australasian Evaluation Society. Janice has achieved good results in policy development and program management at national, state and regional levels.

She has conducted major program reviews and audits, and managed evaluations. She co-wrote The Territory’s Children (PDF, 830KB), a report to the ACT Government of an audit of child protection services.

Janice has specialist skills in community development and in consulting, interviewing and conducting focus groups. Janice has extensive experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. She also has wide experience of consulting with government departments, not-for-profit agencies, peak bodies, businesses, community groups and individuals.

Janice has also worked extensively at the coalface as a child protection worker, youth worker and social worker. She has undertaken sensitive investigations, completed complex assessments and given evidence as an expert witness. She has expertise in consumer issues having been a member of the Residential Tenancies Tribunal in South Australia, adjudicating in disputes between tenants and landlords.
